| Chib inaugurates Additional GMC Emergency Block | | | Shadow Correspondent
JAMMU, JULY 29: Minister for Medical and Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Mr. Rajinder Singh Chib on Thursday inaugurated 50-beded additional Emergency block at Government Medical College Hospital.
The Minister also inaugurated the Attendants' Park near the Emergency block for the convenience of the attendants.
The newly constructed Emergency block has main emergency 50 bedded ward, emergency ICU ward, besides CMO room, doctors' and nurses' room, and separate cabins for the doctors and four additional cabins.
MLA Jammu West Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta , Provincial President National Conference, Mr. Rattan Lal Gupta, besides Health and Medical Education, Principal Secretary, Mr. R. K. Jerath, Director Health Services, Dr. Jasbir Singh , Principal Government Medical College, Jammu, Dr. Aniece Choudhary, General Manager JKPCC Syed Nayeem Ahmed, GMC Medical Superintendent, Dr, Romesh Gupta, , Head of various departments, Medical and Para-Medical Staff Members and other senior officers of JKPCC and R&B were present on the occasion.
Addressing the GMC faculty and other invitees after the inauguration, Mr. Chib said that the construction of the new emergency block at the premier institution was part of the government's efforts to strengthen the medicare services in the state. He said another premier institution of Shri Maharaja Ghulab Singh Hospital has also been up-graded, with the creation of 200-bedded Pediatric Block. He also referred to the Super Specialty facilities being created in the GMC to bring it at par with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Referring to the newly setup emergency block, the Minister said establishment of this new block will ease rush in existing emergency block to a large extent. He said that the existing emergency block would also be renovated. He asked the people to cooperate with the doctors and para-medical staff and keep less attendants with their patients.
The Minister said that coalition Government headed by Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah is committed to provide best medicare facilities to the people in every nook and corner of the State by opening new PHCs and dispensaries to provide this vital service at the doorsteps of the people. He said that all the hospitals in the three regions of the State would be equipped with all infrastructural facilities at par with Jammu and Srinagar cities. Mr. Chib asked the medicos and para-medicos to provide best possible medicare facilities to the patients. He appealed the people to cooperate with medical fraternity by maintaining decorum in the hospital premises so that they could concentrate on the treatment of the patients. Later, the Minister also dedicated two table tennis tables to the students at the GMC Cafeteria. |
