A medical camp was held at village Brehvi in Tehsil Kalakot of Rajouri District on 28 Jul 10. While conducting the medical camp for all elders, women and children, Captain DK Barman, Medical Officer, detected a 70 yr old person, namely Raj Mohammad, son of Late Mishri Khan, having vocal cord cancer of which, the elderly man was totally unaware of. To provide solace and yet not alarm the patient, his son Shabir was called and given a medical counseling, subsequent to which the father and son duo were sent to Medical College, Jammu for immediate medicare along with financial aid. Both the father and son were extremely grateful and thanked the Army authorities for this life-saving noble gesture. All these steps have always had a welcome effect on the locals. It is a strong message by the Indian Army to the perpetrators of terrorism who have been misguiding the local youth and attempting to bring them into the folds of terror. Come what may, the Indian Army has already firmed-in with the local populace by reaching out to them and taking them towards the path of peace and prosperity. |
