Bootlegger held

SAMBA, JULY 29: In a drive against the menace of distillation of illicit liquor and its sale, Samba Police arrested one female bootlegger while 30 litres Lahan alongwith 05 litres of country made liquor was recovered from his residential house at Randwan tehsil under the jurisdiction of PS Ramgarh of district Samba today.
Reports said that Police on a tip off conducted a raid at village Randwan under the jurisdiction of PS Ramgarh oday . During the raid 30 litres of Lahan besides 05 litres of illicit liquor was recovered from the house of one lady namely Smt. Dharmo Devi wife of late Shri Kewal Kumar r/o Randwan tehsil and district Samba. Lohan and Bhatti destroyed under law on spot and case U/S 48 Excise Act stands registered at Police Station Ramgarh.
In the meanwhile, Reasi Police arrested one bootlegger and recovered 45 Poly Pouches from his possession while on checking/frisking at Zandi Morh -Pouni.
The accused has been identified as Ashok Singh s/o Partab Singh r/o Ransoo tehsil and district Reasi .
Case to this effect stands registered at PS Reasi.
