Lok Adalat settles 39 Criminal cases

KATHUA, JULY 29- Lok Adalat and a Legal Awareness Camp was held in the District Court premises Kathua today .For the settlement of the cases referred and taken by the Lok Adalat a bench of presiding officer comprising of Mr Deepak Sethi, CJM Kathua and Mr Romesh Lal, District Mobile Magistrate, Kathua was constituted .Thirty nine criminal compoundable offences of different nature were referred and taken up by this bench and were settled and disposed off. A compound fee of Rs.24900 was also recovered on the spot.
The Awareness camp was attended by president district young bar association headed by Mr Ajat Shotru Advocate, Chief Prosecution Officer and other young lawyers. The participants stressed to conduct such legal literacy camp for orientation of the lawyers and making public aware of anti rigging laws and plea bargaining etc.
