Shadow Correspondent LEH: JULY 29: Tourism Minister, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora today launched "Himalaya on Wheels" where under physically challenged tourists on their wheels would be invited to Ladakh from all over the world. This program has been launched by the PAGIR in collaboration with Leh and Travel Another India Group. Mr. Jora expressed hope that this event would play a positive role to provide equal opportunities to the interested disabled tourists to visit Ladakh. Mr. Jora said that it is the responsible of the government as well as people to give more attention towards the welfare of the disabled people. Appreciating the courage and efforts of PAGIR led by its president Mr. Mohd Iqbal, Mr. Jora said that PAGIR has been doing excellent works in this field besides contributing in the protection of environment. The Minister assured to extend fullest support to PAGIR in future in terms of providing land and funds for creation of infrastructure. The President PAGIR, in his welcome speech, highlighted the activities and objectives of the NGO and sought all possible financial as well as logistic supports for the overall development of all the physically challenged people in Ladakh. Mrs. Rakha of Travel Another India Group proposed vote of thanks and highlighted the objectives for launching the Himalaya on Wheels program.
