Four bovine-smuggling bids foiled, three held


Jammu, Oct 15:
Three alleged bovine smugglers were arrested after they were intercepted from separate places and 19 animals were rescued in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said Monday. A truck illegally carrying 10 bovine animals was intercepted at Chingus and the driver was arrested, a police spokesman said. He added that seven more animals were recovered from two load carriers during checking on the Rajouri-Kandi road. gally, the spokesman said. He said another police party rescued two bovine animals, which were being taken by foot by a suspected smuggler on the Thandapani-Patrara road. However, the suspect fled on noticing the police party and efforts were on to identify and arrest him, the spokesman said.
