Sanju’ refuses to slow down at the box office


Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju is emerging unstoppable at the box office as the film rakes in a whopping 62.97 crores over the second weekend, taking the total collection to 265.48 crores.
Maintaining a steady hold in its second weekend, Sanju collected 12.9 crores on Friday, 22.02 crores on Saturday, and 28.05 crores on Sunday, making the second-weekend collection 62.97 crores.
Breaking records at the box office, the Sanjay Dutt biopic emerged to be the highest opener of the year and is now all set to enter the coveted 200 crore club.
Rajkumar Hirani is touted to be the miracle filmmaker for his Midas touch. The director holds a record of blockbuster films, making him the most successful filmmaker of the industry. In fact, after just six days, the movie has raked in Rs 183.56 crore and is already the 18th all-time top grosser in Bollywood. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial is now set to enter the Rs 200-crore club on day 7 and become the actor’s first film to do so. But that’s not all! It will also become the second-fastest Rs 200-crore film after Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Yes, Sanju will beat the likes of Tiger Zinda Hai and Sultan to bag this huge achievement.
For those of you who don’t know, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Hindi version only) had crossed the Rs 200-crore mark in just 6 days. Sanju is expected to achieve this feat with the same screen count (4,000 screens) in 7 days and take the second spot. Tiger Zinda and Sultan had also crossed the same mark in 7 days, but with a larger screen count, putting them in the third spot. Dangal and PK then complete the top 5 fastest Rs 200-crore films yet.
