AG XI lifts Rigour Cup

Account General (AG) XI clinched the Rigour Cup limited (50) overs Cricket Tournament beating UCC Udhampur by four wickets in the title clash that took place at Country Cricket Stadium, Gharota, here today.
After winning the toss and elected to bat, UCC bowled out measly for 113 runs with only Abid Mushtaq, Saksham Sharma and Jatin Wadhwan touching the double figure mark contributing 34, 25 and15 runs respectively. Raman Dutta (two), Raman Abrol (0), Gokul Baru (three), Gourav Khajuria (0), Vikram Sharma (eight), Puneet Singh (two), Sunil Sharma (seven) and Ritik Singh (not out 0) were other batsmen to lose wickets cheaply.
From AG XI, Umar Alam remained most successful bowler taking away three wickets while Ram Dayal, Mahjoor Ali Sofi and Waseem Raza shared two each. Rahil Singh took other wicket.
In reply, AG XI attained the goal for the loss of six wickets. Waseem Raza played fine innings of 35 runs while Aditya Pratap Singh and Paras Sharma contributed 23 and 18 runs respectively. Sahil Bhalwal (0) and Bandeep Singh (nine) lost their wickets rather easily while Ram Dayal (not out three) and Omar Alam remained unbeaten at three and two runs respectively.
From UCC Udhampur, Ritik Singh claimed four wickets giving away 34 runs in 100 overs while Abid Mushtaq and Raman Dutta claimed apiece each.
In the final and valedictory function, Account General, J&K, Shourjo Chatterjee was chief guest, who gave away the title trophies as also other individual prizes.
Speaking on the occasion, the winning captain expressed hope in the organisational ability of the organisers of the Rigour Cup and wanted that he would be called for many future events by Country Cricket Club holds.
Earlier, the best batsman trophy went to Dikshant Kundal of UCC Udhampur while Ritik Singh, again of UCC was named best bowler. The man of the series trophy secured by Waseem Raza of AG XI and the man of the match trophy awarded to AG XI skipper, Omar Alam.
Man of the match for semifinals, Ritik Singh and Mehjoor Ali Sofi were also awarded on the concluding day.
General secretary of the Country Cricket Club, Sandeep Singh presented the Commemorative plaque to the chief guest.
